Designed for a young family, this home is located on a tight, sloping site in a beachside suburb of Newcastle. Expansive views of the city and beyond are afforded towards the north, rear of the site. From the street this contemporary house provides privacy and protection, while making reference to classic beachside cottages of the past through the use of linear glazing units, lightweight cladding materials, large eaves and interlocking building forms.

Located on an elevated corner site with vast city views to the north and the ocean to the east, this is a home for a young couple, designed for an evolving lifestyle well into the future. The plan form twists to address the street corner and to provide a strong view corridor to the ocean. The northern end of the home is open and elevated, to maximise the broad city views.

Designed and built for the owners of a Newcastle-based glazing company, this reinterpretation of a terrace house draws in sunlight through large internal void spaces in the middle of the home. The result is a building of expressive sculptural form both inside and out. Located on a site only six metres wide, this home is built over four levels and is perched over the spectacular (and sometimes rugged) Newcastle coastline. Materials were chosen to weather naturally and last well over a long period of time. Internally, a glass-floored bridge crosses high above the dining area, connecting the main bedroom to the rest of the home.
This addition to a semi-detached house in South Coogee, Sydney, connects new living spaces to a northern courtyard, opening up the home to light and breezes. The planning approach provides a number of flexible options for occupying the home, now and in the future, while catering to the needs of a creative and active family. Unashamedly contemporary, the addition respects and compliments the old residence and was approved as a Complying Development to bypass the often lengthy Council assessment process.

This project involves the restoration of, and alterations to, a pair of century-old brick terrace houses as well as the construction of a new two-storey dwelling at the rear of the site. The result: three dwellings located on a long and narrow site, close to Newcastle's active cafe district. Difficult site controls in a heritage conservation area, the relationship of new and old, and the desire to keep an established native tree were some of the factors driving the form of the new building. Profiled steel cladding wraps the upper parts of the building while areas of face brick work at the lower level are laid in an unconventional bond pattern to match that seen on the old terraces houses.

This building was constructed as the headquarters and primary showroom for one of the state's largest and most successful tool suppliers. Located on a busy arterial road, the building form was, in itself, designed to act as a type of signboard to suitably present the business: rugged, slick, mechanical. Large, open showrooms, loading areas and storage bays are located at ground level, with corporate office spaces above.
