This project involves the restoration of, and alterations to, a pair of century-old brick terrace houses as well as the construction of a new two-storey dwelling at the rear of the site.  The result: three dwellings located on a long and narrow site, close to Newcastle's active cafe district. Difficult site controls in a heritage conservation area, the relationship of new and old, and the desire to keep an established native tree were some of the factors driving the form of the new building. Profiled steel cladding wraps the upper parts of the building while areas of face brick work at the lower level are laid in an unconventional bond pattern to match that seen on the old terraces houses.

Currently under construction.
